With an extremely fast 18 Foot Skiff and two 49ers Sailing Syndicate Team Pandion is committed to win... Again!

Since 2000 Team Pandion is aiming at the international top. After six years of sailing big boats in IMS, IRC and MaxFun one design classes, Team Pandion is now back on track in small, but very, very fast racing machines.

History
Sailing Syndicate Team Pandion is founded by Bob Kool in the late 90’s. The syndicate started with big-boat racing. The top of big-boat racing was reached in 2003 by winning the North Sea Regatta and Yeoman Cup. In 2005 the big boats were sold after winning a very spectacular North Sea Race.

After two years of a sailing sabbatical the syndicate started again in 2007 with skiff sailing. Since this spectacular way of racing sailboats is believed to be the future of sailing the next boat had to be the olympic 49er.  At this moment the Syndicate is very much alive again and consists of three teams, an 18ft skiff and two 49ers.

By combining our forces we create more possibilities resulting in more professional campaigns.

    Summer 2011 We're all still sailing but we really need to work on updating the site,  Jason is doing his thing for the Dutch selection and is busy with his study. Last weekend we did some Melges 24 rockstar fun at the North Sea Regatta.

    Potsdam Day 3 Potsdam 24-10-2010 De laatste dag is het RIG-TWO-DAY. Dat betekent; de uiers hangen dwars onder de koeien die zich vasthouden aan de dijk dikke bak met wind-dag. Bij een normale boot zet je dan een rif, bij een 18ft skiff mag je de hele boot ombouwen omdat er een andere (kleinere) mast op moet.

    Potsdam Day2 Potsdam 23-10-2010 Het is vandaag maarliefst 2 graden als we de auto in stappen. Lekker zeilweer dus. Voor vandaag staan drie lange baan wedstrijden op het programma. Je krijgt dan en soort ANWB-fietsroute kaartje van de organisatie mee en een heeeeeeele lange lijst met boeien. Die ga je dan spoorzoeken op het water en bij voorkeur in de goede volgorde ronden.

    Potsdam Day 1

    Potsdam 22-10-2010 Gisterenavond zijn we om 1.30u aangekomen in de Potsdamer Yacht Club. De aankomst tijd was wat later dan gepland, omdat Daan de  verkeerde yachtclub in de navigatie had gemikt.

    Potsdam here we are! Potsdam -21-10-2010 Just after midnight we arrived at The Potsdam Yachtclub. We had à safe trip whitout any speeding or overtaking tickets. For THE record, it's just about 3' celcius outside, let's see if the water is still liquid tomorrow..

    Training with Diana Bogaards Holland -  This weekend we've a special guest onboard the 18fter, our friend Diana Bogaards is coming over to Muiderzand to train with us on the 18fter. Diana does have a lot of cat-sailing skills and we're interested in the Skiff skills. Reports on the website www.sailreport.nl and teampandion.com offcourse. We've arranged a huge boat to tender (thanks to Eric / Evenlos.nl and Migeul) and some photographers.

    After the training we'll continu with improving the boat.

    Lovere 2010, Thank you! Eindhoven - 14/09/2010 Team Pandion is back in Holland after four days of Lovere. A big thank you to the Lovere Yacht Club for the great event and perfect organisation! The people and village of Lovere is great and we will comeback soon to sail again!

    Lovere GP day 3

    Gisterenavond hebben we heerlijk gegeten samen met de andere teams in een door de AVAS-sailingclub georganiseerd diner. Maarliefst 8 (!!) gangen, belachelijk veel vino en veel gezelligheid. De klasse is een leuke club waar ik iedereen aanraad om aan deel te nemen!

    Dag twee van ons Italiaanse race avontuur. Wederom is de start pas om 12.30 en staan er vandaag 3 races op het programma. De condities zijn hetzelfde als gisteren, zonnig 15-18kn wind en prima water om lekker te zeilen.

    Lovere GP day 1

    Lovere – 10 september 2010

     

    - Maiden regatta for Team Pandion -

    Vandaag draaide Team Pandion voor de eerste keer mee in de GP series van de 18ft Skiff klasse. We zijn op dit moment gestationeerd in de racevillage van de AVAS – Lovere Sailingclub. Een briljante spot waar we door de mensen van de club meer dan perfect verzorgd worden. De races starten hier om 12.30, niet alleen omdat Italianen nogal lui zijn en voor 10 uur niets ondernemen, voor de middag is er gewoon weg GEEN wind. 0,0 niks nada noppes. Dus dan ga je aan de cappuccino tot er rimpels komen op het water. Die rimpels blijken dan vervolgens een perfecte 18knopen wind te zijn die lekker strak tussen de bergjes door blaast.

    Preparing for Lovere GP Holland- Team Pandion is preparing for the Grand Prix in Lovere 10-12 september. We'll leave on wednesdaymorning in Holland arriving in the early evening in Lovere. Thursday will be a day of training and on friday we'll sail the first race.

    Training Muiderzand / IJsselmeer 15-16 mei Muiderzand - Even alvast een kort berichtje vooruitlopend op het verslag van de training. We hebben heerlijk getraind in Muiderzand / IJsselmeer. Zaterdag met een steady 10kn en zondag met een kleine 14-16 knopen. Veel vooruitgang geboekt en we kunnen vooral bezig zijn met het zeilen en trimmen van de boot.

    Training Stellendam 2010 | 18ft skiff sessie Door: Jason Hogendoorn
    Zaterdag 25 april hebben wij weer het ongelofelijk mooie apparaat, de 18ft skiff race mobiel, opgetuigd voor een lichtweer trainingssessie. Vanuit Marina Stellendam waar overigens ook de Van Uden Reco regatta werd gehouden konden wij prima launchen, wat ook nog steeds een vak apart is.

    EK 49er Croatia Zadar, Croatia - Jason and Sam are now at sailing club Uskok. That’s where the European championship 49er will be held on 1 till 6 sep. The upcoming forecast predictions are medium winds for the first two day’s, followed by light winds after the first two days.

    Skiff Training Muiderzand - This weekend we had a weekend of training and sparring with the guys of Innosource. At saturday it was a moderate 10 to 14kn. breeze and a lot of sun. We've lost the vids made on saterday but sunday wil be online soon. We didn't managed it to get the content as good as last week, we've also sailed all day with some water on the cam, the back of the rack isn't that good for video.

    Zomer 2009 Medemblik- Jason en Sam hebben de afgelopen een hoop getrained en getuned met de nieuwe rig. We zijn erg tevreden met de vooruitgang die we ermee boeken en dat gevoel is tijdens de Delta Lloyd Regatta bevestigd.

    Training 18ft Skiff Grevelingen - Just a quick report about our training with the 18ft Skiff this weekend at the Grevelingen. Due to the north-easterly wind we went to the Grevelingen in stead of Stellendam. We did also find a great spot to take off and land without running aground. The conditions this weekend where light, with at most 8 knots of breeze we set the nr. 1 mast.

    Limburg Skiff Regatta Ophoven | Belgie  Last weekend we went to Limburg to compete in the Limburg Skiff Regatta. Main target was to test the new rigs in racing conditions. After having spent much time getting the set-up as right as we could we went onto the water to race.

    Masts sometimes break Bruinisse | Holland - After some maintenance last week at with our deckhardware partner OnDeck we had some difficulties during training. With a 15-18 knots wind it normally shouldn't  be too hard to sail the 49ers.
