18ft Skiff crew

The 18ft skiff is one of the most extreme boats in the sailing world. After a year of training the crew finally starts to be ready for the real stuff.. the European GP circuit!
This winter the 49er will be used to stay in shape while the 18footer will be turned into race condition.

Bob Kool
Is helming the amazing 18ft skiff racing machine and one of the Pandion 49ers. Over the upcomming years he will sail together with Daan Lammers in the 49er and with Stijn Becker or his son Boudewijn Kool as backup crew. Just to be able to make as many hours in the skiff as possible.

''One of our goals is to support the other Pandion 49er team by training with them and giving them as much support as we can give them to reach their goal. Our main focus will be on competing in the 18ft skiff class. By the end of year 2011 we want to be able to compete with the best teams of Europe.''

Bob's second sport is riding his racing bike or his mountain-bike in the woods, the hills or the mountains in Switzerland.

Daan Lammers
is the middleman holding the mainsheet on the 18ft Skiff. With Daan many years of sailing experience comes onboard. He is also sailing bigboats like the Seawolf GP42, Lutra 30ft and 60ft designs and many more.

Like Bob and Stijn Daan also uses his mountain-bike to stay in top shape for the season to come.

When he's not sailing skiffs or other advanced racers he is working for the web and software development company Laméco.

Stijn Becker
Is a former top ice skater and nowadays coach for the dutch ice skating team. He joined the team during the big-boat campaigns of Pandion. Now he wants to compete with the Pandion team in the 18ft skiff.

Besides sailing and ice skating Stijn also likes riding mountain-bikes and racing bikes. Every summer he can be found riding the highest passes in the Alps.
